Moon Palace is divided into three main areas - Sunrise, Nizuc and Grand. Shuttle busses are available to transfer guests from lobby to lobby and enjoy the unique experiences each area offers. It is very easy get lost and remember where your room is, where certain restaurant and activities are located. It will likely take about 3 days before you are comfortably acclimatized to the whereabouts throughout the resort. 

The Sunrise section is by far the largest and busiest section with 1237 rooms available in this area and includes most of the entertainment and activities for families as well its ballroom facilities are perfect to host large conventions, weddings and groups. Notable areas and activities in the Sunrise section include 2 freestyle pools, 2 swim-up bars and 6 whirlpools and 2 kids pools with a kids splash zone water park and the kids playroom for ages 4 to 12.

The Flowrider! 
One can't go to Moon Palace and NOT attempt the Flowrider! 
Well, you can .... and save yourself the embarrassment of an epic wipeout! Not sure what on earth possessed me to try it but I can say I "tried" it, although I don't even think I managed to stand even a nanosecond on the board! Those kids make it seem like it is too easy and I was simply reminded that I am not as young as I think I am! (Woke up the next morning so stiff all over and feeling like I was 100 years old!)

There is large fitness centre, a very zen meditation garden, miniature golf course with 18 holes, beach soccer, beach volleyball, pool volleyball, tennis and basketball court, bicycles, billiards and ping pong is also available. There is a large schedule of activities for guests to choose how they wish to spend their days at the Palace! 

For a more active indoor lifestyle, there is the Wired teens lounge that is perfect for discerning teenagers! Never will you hear the words "I'm bored" from your teenager here! 

For the adults, Noir Nightclub and Sky Bar are THE places to go for your nightly entertainment fun! If you're with a group, you can request the VIP lounge section to enjoy the club atmosphere within your own little private area with couches and dance floor. 

If the nightclub is not your thing, head to Sky Bar for a fun bar to enjoy signature "Molecular drinks" that are only available at Sky Bar! Hard to describe a "molecular" drink - funky coloured jelly balls with your drink! You just have to try one and see for yourself!

If your preference lends to swings, you can check out the Swing Bar. Yes, it is a bar...with swings. 

Entertainment galore! There are so many choices for entertainment, live shows and small live performances by extremely talented performers throughout the resort. While some of my friends enjoyed "Mexibuble" in the lobby bar, my favourite was the piano player at La Gondola Italian Restaurant where he was right beside our table so we can enjoy his music during dinner. 

Can't forget about golf! 
Moon Palace Golf and Spa Resort is a huge haven for golf enthusiasts! A Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus and maintained annually to keep its Signature status, the 27 hole golf course is will keep golf fans busy for their whole trip. Choose to stay in the nearby golf villas and enjoy free cart rentals and use either your resort credit or an unlimited golf package to maximize your golf opportunities at Moon Palace! 

Ladies, while hubby is enjoying his golf, enjoy the Awe-Spa experience nearby or the quiet pool and lounge areas for some relaxing and rejuvenating "me" time! This is a perfect area to enjoy some quiet or alone time away from the busy-ness of the other areas of the resort and without kids! This area is available to all resort guest to use and is a little unknown secret hideaway area! 

With all the activities and offerings that are available at Moon Palace, the rooms are just as important to ensure you enjoy your vacation from within your room! A bottle of wine is included with your stay and each room includes a balcony and double jacuzzi tubs. Some rooms even include hammocks. 

The rooms at the Moon Grand Section are a bit further away from the rest of the resort so are perfect for couples or adults who prefer a bit more peace and quiet to relax and enjoy upgraded and pampered services while being onsite to be able to take part in the parts of the resort as they wish.
